Eigen Kapital
is an investment firm run by the founders of Toggl. We have 10+ years of hands-on experience with building a bootstrapped, capital efficient growth company with a global, remote-first team.
Eigen Kapital is not a fund as we’re investing our own money. There are no strict external mandates, and we can go after the missions we feel passionate about. Backing founders as founders, our focus is in Europe - finding projects that improve our future: energy, food, agriculture, health, etc. Our capital is long term, patient and asset agnostic.
We will not be the ones pushing a founder to sell, instead will always stay on their side, as we’ve been in that position ourselves. “Evergreen capital” could be the right phrase, enabling us to make considerably longer-term bets than many VC funds.
Ticket size
We’re aiming to back technology companies with an investment range of €200k-€500k. Eigen does not expect to lead rounds and hopes to be seen as more collaborative than competitive. Still, we expect initial market validation, customer traction and/or revenue for a startup to be interesting.
